To the west, Etowah and Horse Shoe sit along the French Broad River, offering more rural character and river access.
North of town, Mills River and Fletcher offer easy access to Asheville along the I-26 corridor.
East Flat Rock and Mountain Home sit just outside the city limits, close-in but with their own identity.
And out toward the edges of the county, you'll find Edneyville (apple orchard country), Dana, Naples, Zirconia, Tuxedo, and even Bat Cave and Gerton tucked into the mountains.
